Malivoire’s Guilty Men is a wine that someone else discovered for me. I wish I could say I had the wherewithal to grab this bottle at my local LCBO, but my parents actually gifted me with a bottle as part of my Christmas present last year. Yes, I’ve been holding out on telling you about this amazing wine for that long. It’s been a busy year, forgive me?
The Wine: Malivoire Guilty Men

I recently brought this wine with me to a cottage that I went to with my parents. I wanted an all-around delicious white that could be enjoyed during the afternoon or at night, and this fits the bill. I’m picky about my cottage wines; I want something that I won’t feel guilty about enjoying just after noon, but I don’t want anything too heavy. I’m also not into super light wines; I like something with flavour and a bit of punch. Leave it to Malivoire to create the perfect cottage wine.
To me, Guilty Men is full of contradictions, and when it’s as tasty as it is, I’m honestly okay with that. Guilty Men is light and crisp, but it’s also buttery and complex. The smell of peach wafts up from my glass, while pear and honey flavours dominate. The more I drink this the more it tastes like a freshly baked pear tart, but at the same time there’s nothing heavy about it. The perfect balance of Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay makes for a scrumptious blend.
Guilty Men is a wine that is great to drink anywhere, any time. It’s great ice cold, and it’s delicious as it warms up a bit. You really can’t go wrong with this wine. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to have another glass.
