As much as I enjoy drinking wine by myself while making tasting notes and accidentally drinking most of the bottle (oops), it's really, really nice to drink wine with friends.
Wine is meant to be shared and enjoyed. When it's great, it becomes part of the conversation. I'm lucky that I have friends who enjoy wine as much as I do. Dyanna is one of those friends. You may remember her because of her wrong point of view about Chardonnay. Luckily Dyanna makes up for it with her love of rosé. Seriously, this girl loves rosé as much as I do, if not more. So when she was given a bottle of Fielding Estate Winery Rosé, we found a rooftop deck (thanks Kim, Lauren and Cybele!) and cracked open this beauty.
The Wine: Fielding Estate Rosé 2015
Grape Variety: Blend (primarily Gamay and Cabernet Franc)
On the nose, I smell the sweetness of strawberries and citrus flavours like lime and grapefruit. There’s almost a candy-like flavour to this wine but, at the same time, it’s tart and fresh. It’s also a light-medium bodied rosé, which means it’s great for drinking on a hot summer’s day. The more I drink this wine, the more I taste freshly picked juicy strawberries, with flavours of grapefruit and lime rolling around on my mouth as well.
Dyanna, who is also enjoying this wonderful rosé, pours us another glass and we cheers to this delicious wine. The summer of drinking rosé is officially in session.
Fielding Estate 2015 Rosé is a really refreshing rosé, and I look forward to adding it into my rosé rotation this summer.
