Lately I find myself gravitating towards those Provence-style Rosés; light in colour, dry, soft and delicate. But this Rosé from Featherstone really pacts a punch for the days (and nights) when I’m in the mood for something bolder, brighter, juicier.
The Wine: Featherstone Rosé, 2018
The Price: $15.95
The Grape: Cabernet Franc, Gamay and Merlot
The Region: Vineland, ON
This may be the summer blockbuster of Rosé’s: it doesn’t take itself too seriously, it’s fun, joyful and damn good. With notes of candied cherries, rose petals, lime skin, herby undertones and a lush spiciness on the nose, it’s a serious steal at $15.95 and deserves to be added to your summer Rosé rotation.
Bonus: Featherstone Winery is a hop, skip and jump away from Toronto and they’re celebrating their 20th anniversary this year.
Hope to see you at the winery! You can find me on Featherstone’s patio, a glass of Rosé in hand.
